Preparing for "Wedding Camp"

As the time draws near to make the trip to Camp Clearfork in Arkansas for our wedding, I thought I might pause from the global planning of meals, music, ceremonies, and lighting to focus on the preparedness of our esteemed guests.  Being prepared always leads to being comfortable and being comfortable makes one open to being better entertained so it's good idea to go over some things.

The camp really is an amazing place and has perfect facilities for our purpose, but it has some differences from modern destinations that you will want to take into account.

Make Your Plans for Lodging NOW!

It seems there is a motorcycle convention in Hot Springs the weekend of the wedding but that's OK as there are lots of places to stay in and around Camp Clearfork.  If you are on the guest list and not in a cabin you should have received the email below:

Save the date!

Save the date magnets went out a couple of weeks ago.  Becky and I were able to make these online in just a few minutes and they arrived in less than a week.

A fun Thursday night at The Dubliner!

Here are some pictures.

Wedding Camp - Basic Itinerary

This is our rough draft of the event itinerary! As of now (07/06) tho...here is what we got:

THURSDAY -

Mike and I are driving to Hot Springs. Any/all of you are welcome to join. We will have dinner and do a pre-wedding celebratory pub crawl (and to celebrate a friend's birthday) in downtown historic Hot Springs that night. We have reservations for this night at the historic Arlington Hotel, and costs really are pretty reasonable. There is also a great little "divey" hotel down the street, called the Happy Hollow Motel. It is kind of kitschy and fun, but the price can't be beat. hehehe Remember, there is a motorcycle rally that weekend. Dunno if there will be tons of people there on Thur...but it could be pretty entertaining. Make your reservations EARLY!
