Wedding Camp - Basic Itinerary
This is our rough draft of the event itinerary! As of now (07/06) tho...here is what we got:
THURSDAY -
Mike and I are driving to Hot Springs. Any/all of you are welcome to join. We will have dinner and do a pre-wedding celebratory pub crawl (and to celebrate a friend's birthday) in downtown historic Hot Springs that night. We have reservations for this night at the historic Arlington Hotel, and costs really are pretty reasonable. There is also a great little "divey" hotel down the street, called the Happy Hollow Motel. It is kind of kitschy and fun, but the price can't be beat. hehehe Remember, there is a motorcycle rally that weekend. Dunno if there will be tons of people there on Thur...but it could be pretty entertaining. Make your reservations EARLY!
FRIDAY -
AM: Hangover breakfast in downtown Hot Springs. Our favorite place is the Pancake Shop. Great food, but they do NOT take credit cards. Have cash, yo! After breakfast...Mike and I (and possibly some recruited individuals) will head to the Sam's to load up on supplies. If you don't wanna do that, or haven't been recruited, there is a TON of stuff to do in Hot Springs and/or on the way to Clear Fork. The camp opens at 2:00pm, so you really can't get there early. PM: "Dinner" BYOdinner :) Bring some meat to grill, sides, your favorite beverages! You are on your own for food this night. We will prolly do a run through of the ceremony..but this will be uber laid back. There will probably be alot of prepping for the next day in the kitchen too!
SATURDAY -
AM: Breakfast. We will have some items (bagels, etc), but you are really on your own for food. Since we will be near some of the best trails in the country (my opinion), I am sure many of our group will be riding and/or hiking on the Womble, Charlton, and Ouachita Trail. Whoever wants to go can go play (ride, run, sit in a chair by the lake) OR can go with the girls to Hot Springs to do spa stuff. I am not usually one for high maintenance fluffery, but this IS my wedding day, and I plan on a little pampering. heheh Afternoon: prep work, getting ready, etc etc. We might assign some jobs here and there. We don't want ANYONE to work all weekend, we want it to be fun...but we might ask for a hand here and there. Evening (dusk-ish): ceremony. 10-15 mins? Then roll right into the "reception". It is all gonna be pretty much in the same space, so it might just require some tables and chairs moved. Mike and I will probably do some pics...then we will party!!!
SUNDAY:
We have the campsite through Monday morning, so anyone who wants to stay and enjoy the trails, camp and natural beauty (or is too tired to head home) can stay and hang with us. We will probably do a breakfast, go riding, if the weather is warm...maybe sit in a tube on the little private lake. Who knows. People can leave this day or on Monday...either way, it is ALL GOOD!!
